We recommend that you make use of AGPS to speed up the connection time for your GPS. AGPS uses your Mobile Internet connection to connect to a Nokia server that tells your device which GPS satellites it will be able to connect to, substantially reducing the time taken to get a GPS fix.

In case you use a device with integrated GPS receiver, please have a look into the manual of your device on the location of the GPS receiver. Nokia: New Smart phones for Recovery

Nokia is the world's biggest cellphone maker by volume, is again set to bring pleasant surprises for all eager Nokia consumers with its launch of new smartphone models next week at its annual media and industry event. This strategy is also aimed to assure the investors that the company is on track to recovery.

Nokia, whose profits and share price have dived in the last few years, is now betting on the renewal of its line of smartphones.

The cellphone maker is set to unveil its new flagship model E7 at the show in London. The new smartphone from the company comes with a large touchscreen and full keyboard.

Along with E7, Nokia will also introduce its new N8 model. The tech geeks and enthusiasts await the launch of N8 model from Nokia as this is the first phone to use the new Symbian 3 software, along with other new smartphones, the sources said.

The N8 model was unveiled in April and was scheduled to go on sale later in the month of September. The N8 from Nokia stands out with its 12 megapixel camera but on the other hand has a slower processor than recently launched Samsung's top model Galaxy S and the latest iPhone.

"As the N8 starts shipping and other devices are unveiled, Nokia will be hoping that it can lay the foundation stones for its recovery given the onslaught of competitive products currently hitting the market," said Ben Wood, director of research at CCS Insight. "It has made some big commitments on fixing Symbian and its first flagship product using the refreshed Symbian operating system. Failure is not an option," Wood said.

Nokia's Symbian operating system is yet to attract a large number of software developers who are interested in creating compatible applications, which gradually is expected to be a key selling point for high-end cellphones.

Nokia controls 40 percent of the smartphone market with its Symbian software but could not fare well among the most expensive models to easier-to-use phones from Apple and Research in Motion; those were launched in the recent past.

Last year, Apple surpassed Nokia as the handset maker generating the largest total profit, despite selling only one iPhone for every 13 phones Nokia sells.

Nokia’s CEO Kallasvuo, has promised that the usability of Nokia's Symbian smartphones would not be an issue by the end of this year. "Everyone will be very curious about the Symbian 3 user interface," said analyst Francisco Jeronimo from IDC.
